MONROE, La. – ULM fell behind 5-0 after one inning and Samford evened the weekend series at one game apiece with a 10-2 win at Warhawk Field on Saturday night.
Samford, like they did in game one, scored the game's first run. Heath Quinn delivered a three-run homer over the wall in left to give the Bulldogs an early 3-0 lead in the first. Samford added two more runs in the frame to take a five run lead after the top of the first.
ULM got on the scoreboard in the home half of the second as Danny Springer sent an offering from Tristan Widra over the wall in left.
Samford added a pair of unearned runs in the third and a pair of earned runs in the fourth to extend the lead to 9-1.
The Bulldogs and the Warhawks each plated a single run in the eighth to set the final tally at 10-2. In the bottom of the eighth, ULM's run came on a two-out RBI double to right field by Kyle Schimpf.
Brandon Bell (0-2) was tagged with the loss in Saturday's contest.
Tristan Widra (2-0) earned the win after allowing one run on four hits and four walks in five innings of work.

- Danny Springer hit his first homer of the season at Warahwk Field (a solo shot) in the bottom of the second inning.
- Ethan Daily logged a career-high four innings of work against Samford.
- Rookie Hayden Frost made his first collegiate appearance in Saturday's game.
- Kyle Schimpf notched his first career double as well as his first career RBI.
