NEW ORLEANS – After wrapping up his collegiate career with a top-10 finish at the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Championships (April 24-26), Velten Meyer has been tabbed Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt the league office announced today.
Meyer appeared in all 10 events for the Warhawks this year and posted a team-best average score of 74.80 over the course of his 26 rounds. He posted a trio of top-15 performances this season as he was tied for third at the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate, tied for 14th at the Border Olympics and tied for eighth at the Sun Belt Championship.
His 68 in round two of the Sun Belt Championship tied the low round of the year for the Warhawks and his tied for third at the Atchafalaya Intercollegiate was the best on the team in 2015-16.
