LAFAYETTE, La. – The ULM softball squad will spend its weekend facing instate rival UL Lafayette at Lamson Park in its last regular season Sun Belt Conference series with Saturday's doubleheader being broadcast on ESPN3.

The twinbill on Saturday begins at 2 p.m. CST and the series concludes Sunday on a 1 p.m. first pitch.

The Warhawks (23-29, 7-14 SBC) took one of three games this past weekend against Georgia State inside ULM Softball Complex.

Junior Melanie Coyne (17-19) twirled her fifth shutout of the season in game one, scattering seven hits and striking out four during the 118-pitch outing. She was also 2-2 at the plate with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored.

Sophomore Hunter Hogan finished the weekend batting a team-best .667 (4-6) with two runs and a stolen base.

Senior Amye Barre continues to pad on to ULM's HBP record as she has now been plunked 43 times in her career. She was HBP for the 39th time against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (April 26), breaking the school record previously held by Kristy Dietz (1998-02). Barre also had a productive weekend at the plate, hitting .429 (3-7).

The Warhawks have already secured a spot in the SBC Tournament and have a possibility to move up to the No. 7 seed this weekend. ULM needs to finish the regular season with a better record than UT Arlington (29-16, 8-13 SBC) and each team has one SBC series remaining.

The Warhawks move into the seven seed IF:

   • ULM wins two of three AND UTA is swept

   • ULM wins all three games AND UTA wins one OR is swept

Overall series record versus the Ragin' Cajuns: 28-99 - ULM's last win over ULL came on a 4-2 victory in Lafayette on May 5, 2012.
