ULM Leads Jim Rivers Intercollegiate After Day One

CHOUDRANT, La. – The ULM Men's Golf team holds a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Tuesday morning following a 36-hole day on Monday that saw the team shoot round scores of 283 and 290 at the Squire Creek Country Club.

NOTABLES

-Thibault Santigny paced the Warhawks on Monday with rounds of 70 and 73 (143 total) and sits in a tie for fifth overall heading into the final round. After the log jam tie for fifth, Santigny's ULM teammates Hogan Arey and Jeffrey Berry sit tied for 10th, just one shot back with two-round totals of 144. Arey shot rounds of 71 and 73, while Berry carded a pair of 72's on Monday.

-Andoni Etchenique carded rounds of 76 and 72 (148 total) and sits in a tie for 29th, while Joad Girro is one shot back with a Monday total of (rounds of 70 and 79) and in a tie for 36th.

-ULM takes a one shot lead into Tuesday over Central Arkansas. The Warhawks have a six shot lead over third place Lamar (+2) and are eight shots ahead of Houston Baptist and Southern Miss, who are tied for fourth with scores of four over par.

-ULM has never won the Jim Rivers Collegiate as a team, however, former Warhawk Casey Russell took home individual championship honors in the first-ever tournament back in 2004 with a three-round total score of 2013. Another former Warhawk, Tim Kunick, shot a round of 66 in the first round of the 2005 tournament which is tied for the seventh-best round in tournament history.

-ULM will play a final, 18-hole round on Tuesday morning at Squires Creek. The action will begin at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
