TEXAS – The ULM tennis team wrapped up their Texas trip winning two of the single draws in Dallas and competing to the end in a tough tournament in Waco this weekend.
NOTABLES
-In Waco on Sunday, the Warhawks had Tiffany Mylonas coming off the win against fellow teammate Stefani Andrei on Saturday defeating her 6-2,2-6,7-6 go on to face Baylor on Sunday. Mylonas would drop a tough three setter to Baylor 7-5, 3-6, 2-6.
-The Warhawks were able to get two players to the final four of that draw of a tournament, which featured some of the strongest teams that ULM has gone up against this season. Those teams included host Baylor, Mississippi State, Wisconsin, Troy and Georgia State.
-In Dallas, The Warhawks won the No. 5 singles draw on Sunday as Ioana Popescu defeated UTSA on Sunday due to injury sustained by Popescu's opponent.
-Luana Stanciu fell in the consolation final on Sunday of the No. 7 singles draw against Houston. Stanciu fell in two sets 4-6, 2-6.
-Patricia Villar won the No. 9 singles draw on Sunday winning a tight three setter 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 against Texas A&M-CC.
UP NEXT
-ULM now begins preparation for this week in the ITA Regionals which will be contested in Tuscaloosa, AL. The four-day tournament will commence this Friday afternoon.
