MONROE, La. – The Maroon squad exploded for 12 runs over the final two innings on Saturday morning, breaking open what had been a 2-2 tied game and taking a 3-1 series lead into game five of the ULM Blood Series on Sunday morning.
THE TURNING POINT
Tied going into the top of the sixth, Maroon posted five runs in the sixth frame and added seven final runs in the seventh inning as it finished the night with 12 total hits.
NOTABLES
-Four Maroon players – Cade Stone, Blake Buckman, Casey Oliver and Gino Marucci – each had two hits, combining for eight of the team's 12 hits in the win. Buckman collected a double and had four RBI, while Marucci added a triple on the day. Stone finished with two RBI, along with two RBI from Cade Harper (1-for-4).
-For Gold, Anthony Herrera led the way with two of the squad's four hits, as he drove in two RBI in the loss.
-Payton Coddou allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits across six innings for Maroon to earn the win.
