THE BASICS

Records: ULM (9-22, 3-11 SBC)

            ULL (9-19, 5-8 SBC)

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location: Monroe, La. (Fant-Ewing Coliseum)

Monroe, La. -  The ULM volleyball team will take on rival UL-Lafayette on Tuesday night inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

NOTEABLES

-ULM split last weekend, taking a five set win over South Alabama before being dealt a loss against Troy. The Warhawks look to bounce back with three home games this week that will close out the regular season. Since ULM joined the Sun Belt in 2006, the Warhawks have only acquired at most four conference wins in a season. That happened with the 2011 team, in which two of those wins were against UL-Lafayette.

-UL-Lafayette also split last weekend, taking a win over Troy and falling against South Alabama.

-The teams have played each other with games dating back to 1983 and UL-Lafayette leads the series. The Ragin' Cajuns came out with a 3-2 win earlier in the season in Lafayette.

FROM COACH HILTZ

We talked after the game on Sunday about establishing goals for the next three games. Our focus will be on achieving both individual as well as team goals over the course of the next three games. When ULL is one of those three games it makes motivation a bit easier. In sports, if you can't be fired up to play your rival then you have a problem. ULL needs the game for their playoff chances. We have a chance to tie for the most SBC wins at ULM ever so the game means something for both teams. Lately our matches against the Cajuns have been absolute battles and I expect nothing less than the same tomorrow night.

UP NEXT

The Warhawks will have three games in one week including the match against UL-Lafayette. The team will also take on Texas State on Friday following the basketball home openers and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
