FROM COACH DOW

About the game: I'm really pleased with the effort. I didn't know quite what to expect with the first game of the season. Obviously with six new players, first game jitters and an early start time, I was pleased with the overall focus and how hard we played. I thought the second half we did a better job of taking care of the ball.

About the players: From an individual perspective, obviously Stephanie Ratliff is going to be one of our key players. For her to get a career-high 22 points and throw in 11 rebounds and three blocked shots was really encouraging. Alexis Collins is our new point guard and she's going to help our offense go and I thought today really showed that.

What we need to work on: I think defensively we could have done better. There were some things that we were allowing that are going to get exposed when we go on the road to take on Arkansas. We had a few more fouls than I would have like and I'd like to see us be a little more disciplined in that.
