Monroe, La. – ULM softball and head coach Corey Lyon welcomed nine new faces to the 2017-18 roster during the 2016 fall early signing period.
"We are very excited about our recruiting class," Lyon said. "In this class, we were able to address all of specific positional needs as well as add some outstanding athletes that will give us depth as we continue to grow and push for a Sun Belt Conference Championship and a spot in NCAA postseason play."
Arrin Dye - Pitcher
Dye is a 5-8 pitcher that comes to the Warhawks from Mangham High School in Mangham, La. Going into her senior year of high school, Dye has been awarded Second Team All-District Outfield, Second Team All-District Pitcher, First Team Pitcher for two years and All-NELA Honorable Mention. Her high school highlight so far is a no hitter against Gena and a home run to tie the game.
Kori Jewell – Catcher/First Base
Jewell comes to the Warhawks from Berbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Going into her senior year of high school, Jewell has been a two-time Academic All-District and two-time First Team All-District. The highlight of her high school career so far is making fourth round of playoffs her junior year.
Morgan Rios - Catcher
Rios comes to the Warhawks from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas. Going into her senior year of high school, Rios has accumulated awards such as Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-District, is a two-time First Team All-District and was a member of the National Honor Society. In three years, the catcher has compiled a batting average of .489, 11 home runs, 38 RBI and helped her team to back-to-back district titles and playoff quarterfinalists. The highlight of her high school career so far is in the second round of playoffs she hit the game tying grand slam her junior year.
Emma Skinkle - Pitcher
Skinkle comes to the Warhawks from Perryville High School in Perryville, Ark. Going into her senior year of high school, Skinkle has been awarded A-B Merit Role as a junior and senior, three-time All-Conference, All-State Honorable Mention, and was selected USSSA Division A Best Player. She helped her team to a fifth place in the ASA Nationals.
Charlie Names – First Base/Outfield
Names come to the Warhawks from Sheridan High School in Sheridan, Ark. Going into her senior year of high school, Names has been awarded All-Arkansas Pres and All-State Tournament Team in 2014 as well as All-Conference in 2015 and 2016. She helped her team to Conference Champions in 2014 and 6A State Champions in 2016. The highlight of her high school career so far in 2014 when she was named All-Arkansas Preps Softball and when she hit back-to-back three-run homers in State semifinals to send her team to the State Championship.
Savannah Flinn – Third Base
Flinn comes to the Warhawks from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, Calif.
Rylee Lara - Utility
Lara comes to the Warhawks from Justin Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas. Going into her senior year of high school, Lara has been awarded second team All-District Outfield and the Quad D Award (determination, dedication and heart). In her junior year she compiled a batting average of .424 and an on base percentage of .929.
Ava Heidorn – Short Stop/Second Base
Heidorn comes to the Warhawks form Worthington Christian School in Marysville, Ohio. During her three years, she has accumulated awards such as First Team All-Conference, two-time Second Team All-Conference, two-time Honorable Mention All-Columbus Metro, Conference Player of the Year, Team Defensive MVP and First Team All-District.
Ciara Wilson – Pitcher
Wilson comes to the Warhawks from McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas. Going into her senior year of high school, Wilson has been awarded Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-District. The highlight of her high school career so far is pitching more than half the season her freshman and junior year.
