Monroe, La. - The ULM women's basketball team remains home inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum this Saturday to face Georgia State with the Warhawks in search of their first Sun Belt Conference win.

NOTABLES

Last Time Out: The Warhawks opened the weekend with a loss to Georgia Southern. Despite only a six-point difference at the half, the Eagles went on a 20-2 run to start the second half and went on to a 65-44 win.

Home Court: Out of the next five games that the Warhawks will play, three of those game will be played at home. The home games will be broken up by a trip to Texas where ULM will face Texas State and UTA before the Warhawks return home to host Little Rock (Jan. 26) and Arkansas State (Jan. 28) to close the month.

Opponent: Georgia State finished its non-conference schedule with a 4-7 record as the team boasts wins over from Morehead State, Allen University, Kennesaw State and American. The Panthers added another win in the opening game of SBC play against Georgia Southern. Georgia State has yet to win a game since then with losses to Troy, South Alabama and the Ragin Cajuns. Panthers to watch are Tiffany Holston and Jada Lewis, both of whom are category leaders: Holston – points (145), field goals (56), free throws (27) and rebounds (125); Lewis – assists (26), steals (19) and average minutes (29.3).

Head-to-Head: ULM closed the 2015-16 regular season with an 82-68 home victory over Georgia State last March, the Warhawks only home victory in the young series.

FROM COACH DOW

About Georgia State: Georgia State is a very talented team. They have a nice balance of inside and outside players. Certainly, Tiffany Holston as a post player is going to be a handful. Not to mention having Astaja Tyghter, who is a very athletic post player who can do a number of things offensively. Those girls are coupled with a couple of talented guards Jada Lewis and Makeba Ponder.

What we need to do: Going into this game we have to make sure that we are on top of our game defensively to slow these guys down. Offensively, we know we'll see a variety of looks from them defensively. So we have to keep our poise, take care of the ball and make an effort to get great shots every possession.
