FROM COACH DOW
About Little Rock: It was an unbelievable performance for Little Rock tonight. I had to do a little bit of a double take when I looked at the stats at halftime to see that they had gone 11-of-11 in the second quarter. Then they only miss two shots in the third quarter and only four shots in the fourth quarter. They are obviously a talented team and there is a reason they are undefeated in Sun Belt play and first in the league.
Our take from this: We've been stressing the importance of defense all season long. We talked about the disappointing loss against Georgia Southern at home and less than 48 hours later we had a great effort to beat Georgia State. We were down 12 in the middle of the third quarter and ended up winning by nine. We know that we are capable of doing it.
UP NEXT
-The Warhawks remain at home for Saturday's game against Arkansas State as the women will start off the doubleheader at 2:00 p.m. During the game, both teams will be showing their support to Coaches vs. Cancer in honor of Appalachian State women's basketball head coach Angel Elderkin.
