Monroe, La. – The ULM tennis team returns to Monroe for its first home match on Saturday afternoon at Heard Stadium against Sam Houston State. The match with the Bearkats will begin at 1:00 p.m. with doubles play followed by singles competition.
NOTABLES
-For the Warhawks, this will be their second attempt at opening the season at home after their first attempt on January 19was postponed due to weather.
-As a team last weekend the Warhawks split their two matches in Auburn, defeating the defending SBC champions Georgia State 4-2 before falling to the host Auburn 4-1.
-Last weekend the Warhawks were led by Petra Horakova, who won both of her singles matches and also teamed with Stefana Andrei to win the only doubles point for the Warhawks over the weekend.
-The Warhawks enter Saturday afternoon's matchup 17-7 all-time against Sam Houston State, including winning the last matchup against the Bearkats by a 5-2 score back on March 2, 2013.
UP NEXT
-The Warhawks will travel next Friday to Nacogdoches to battle at Stephen F. Austin. The match against the Ladyjacks will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 3.
