HOUSTON, Texas – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams began the Houston Invitational on Friday with strong showings in multiple events.
NOTABLES
-Senior Adriunna Brown competed in the women's pentathlon and finished fifth overall in the event. She highlighted her performance with a long jump victory as she posted a 5.78 meter jump. She also posted a time of 9.33 in her 60m hurdles event, which is just two tenths off her personal best.
-Junior Brice Chaney competed in the men's heptathlon, winning the shot put portion of the event with a 12.98 meter throw. His throw was six tenths of a meter longer his previous personal best.
-Senior Darashai Brock finished fifth in the women's weight throw, posting a new personal best of 16.71 meters as she bested her previous career high of 16.24 set at the 2016 indoor SBC championships.
-Sophomore Edith Jebet had a strong showing in the 5000 meter run, posting a second place finish with a time of 19:06.27.
-In the men's 5000 meter run, the Warhawks had three representatives in the event, led by Kipkuri Victor's third place showing. Jacob Holland finished seventh and Jonathan Jeffcoat finished ninth. Victor finished with a time of 15:18.25, just nine seconds behind the winner.
