Warhawks Head To Baton Rouge For Friday Meet

MONROE, La. – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams get set to head down to Baton Rouge on Friday for the LSU Bayou Bengal event. The Warhawks pass the halfway point of the indoor season with this meet in Baton Rouge on Friday.

NOTABLES

-In Houston last week, senior Adriunna Brown competed in the women's pentathlon and finished fifth overall in the event. She highlighted her performance with a long jump victory as she posted a 5.78 meter jump. She also posted a time of 9.33 in her 60m hurdles event, which is just two tenths off her personal best.

-Sophomore Edith Jebet had a strong showing in the 5,000 meter run, posting a second place finish with a time of 19:06.27.

-Kourtni Russell competed last week in the 60 meter hurdles, posting a time of 9.07 seconds in the semifinals to set a new personal record. She went on to better that by posting a time of 9.01 seconds in the finals to finish in eighth place.

- The Warhawks had a strong showing in the men's 200 meter dash as Nigel Cribbs finished in second place with a time of 22.91 seconds. Semaj Lewis finished fifth with his 23.17 second time and Emile Trahan finished in 23.60 seconds.

-Teams included this weekend in Baton Rouge include: LSU, Alcorn State, Grambling, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Prairie View A&M, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern and Texas Southern.

UP NEXT

-Following the Houston Invitational, ULM will begin preparation for the LSU Bayou Bengal. The Warhawks run in that event on beginning on Friday, February 3 in Baton Rouge.
