Monroe, La.  -  The ULM women's basketball team is set to take the court in Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Saturday afternoon against the Ragin Cajuns in a contest that will be carried on ESPN3.

NOTABLES

Last time out: ULM had a slow start last Saturday against South Alabama, falling 74-44 in Sun Belt play inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. South Alabama held ULM to a 16-7 score after the first quarter as they forced 17 turnovers that they were able to convert to 27 points.

Home Stretch: The Warhawks will be at home for two of the next four regular season games. The Warhawks final road trip will be to Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State Feb. 23 and 25.

Opponent: The Ragin Cajuns will enter the contest on a three-game winning streak with victories over Georgia State, South Alabama and Troy. The Cajun to watch is Jaylyn Gordon as the senior leads the team in at least six different categories: points (407), three-point field goals (62), free throws (66), assists (74), steals (41) and average minutes (38.6).

Three-Point Shooting Challenge: The three-point challenge is a Sun Belt initiative set up to help save lives from cancer by raising donations for every three-pointer made during games in February through March. More information can be found here.

Breast Cancer Awareness:  This weekend the Warhawks will be sporting their pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness.

Sun Belt Tournament: Twelve teams will gain a bid to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament. The teams will descend on New Orleans, La. and compete in Lake Front Arena from March 7-12. Tickets can be purchased through the ULM ticket office.

FROM COACH DOW

“The Cajuns have a terrific back court led by Jaylyn Gordon, who is the leading scorer in the Sun Belt Conference and arguably the best guard in the conference. She is a tremendous three-point shooter, but she also has the ability to get to the rim and the free throw line as well. Kind of an unsung player that I think is one of the best post players in the league is Simone Fields. She had a terrific game against us the first time around with 25 points and 10 rebounds, five of those being offensive rebounds. We have to keep Gordon and Fields in check and then the supporting players can certainly contribute as well.”
