Monroe, La. – The ULM women's golf team is set to open the 2017 spring campaign on Monday in Corpus Christi at the Texas A&M-CC Islander Classic.
NOTABLES
-The Warhawks will send Shani White, Devanshi Naik, Olivia Landberg, Michaela Osborne, and Scarlett Eaton onto the course as their five-member team for the Warhawks. Ashton Maddaloni will also compete in Corpus Christi as an individual.
-The event will start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning with 36 holes of continuous golf for the field. After the 36 holes on Monday, the Warhawks will then join the field with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start to finish the event on Tuesday.
-The Warhawks competed in four tournaments during the fall, highlighted by a team-best fourth place finish in the Golden Eagle Jam in mid-October. In all four tournaments the Warhawks were led by Shani White, who had her best individual finish of the fall when she placed sixth in the same Golden Eagle Jam. She led the Warhawks throughout the fall with a 75.91 scoring average.
-The tournament will feature ULM, Dallas Baptist, Lamar, McLennan, McNeese, Sam Houston State, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, University of the Incarnate Word, Wyoming

"There will be very windy conditions. Determining how the wind factors into distance and shot shape was challenging during our practice round today (Sunday). These conditions are going to put more pressure on our around-the-green shots, as well as our mental management. The goal is to stay in the moment and focused on making the best of every shot."
UP NEXT
-Following the Texas A&M-CC Islander Classic, the Warhawks will head to Dallas, Texas for the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invite. The three-day event will begin on March 13.
