Monroe, La. - The ULM tennis team earned national recognition on Tuesday as the Warhawks entered the ITA Division I women's tennis team rankings, checking in at No. 50 in the latest poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
The Warhawks are coming off an upset win over the previously 40th-ranked Tulane on Saturday in New Orleans, with the Warhawks grabbing a 4-3 match victory. The Green Wave are ranked 43rd in the new ITA poll this week.
Last season, the Warhawks earned the No. 72 ranking in ITA rankings after they opened the season with a 7-0 mark.
The Warhawks are led this season by senior Petra Horakova, who is off to a 9-0 start this year, including sealing the match for the Warhawks against Tulane on Saturday. Horakova's start also includes a singles win over the 15th-ranked Auburn Tigers and she also picked up a doubles win over the 76th -ranked doubles team from Tulane.
