Warhawks Head To Texas For A Pair of Meets This Weekend

Monroe, La. – The ULM men's and women's track & field teams will hit the track this weekend as they will both be battling in Texas at the Victor Lopez Classic and the Bobby Lane Invitational.

NOTABLES

-In Houston on Friday, the Warhawks will have representatives in the 10000 meter run, including: Jacob Holland, Jonathan Jeffcoat, Elias Keter and Kipkirui Victor.

-The last time the Warhawks hit the track in Lafayette for the Louisiana Classic they had a strong showing, highlighted by Jevaughn Shaw placing third in the event with a 49.83 meter toss. Kyle Weiss in the same event placed eighth with a 44.81 meter throw. The same duo of Shaw and Weiss competed again in the shot put event and flipped positions as Weiss placed in third place in the shot put with a 15.87 meter distance and Shaw went just behind in fourth with a 15.76 meter throw.

-Also in Lafayette, In the women's 1500 meter run, Angela Jepchirchir had a personal record last Saturday, placing fifth with a 4:51.57 time. Levaughn Battick in the men's 110 meter hurdles had a fourth place showing with a time of 14.55. Battick was first of college representatives in the event as the others competed unattached in the event.

-Teams this weekend in Arlington include: ULM, UTA, Oklahoma, TCU, SMU, Little Rock, Texas State, North Texas, Northwestern State, Dallas Baptist, Eastern New Mexico, Incarnate Word, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Wesleyan, Cowley CC and Wiley CC.

 

UP NEXT

-ULM will be back on the track beginning next Thursday, March 30 when the Warhawks travel over to Austin for the Texas Relays. The event in Austin will be March 30-April 1.
