MONROE, La. - The ULM softball team will make the short trip down I-20 to take on regional rival Louisiana Tech on Wednesday night in the second game of the teams' home-and home season series. The Warhawks won the first meeting by a 1-0 score in Monroe two weeks ago.

NOTABLES

Last time out: ULM dropped all three games against South Alabama in weekend Sun Belt Conference series action, including a pair of extra-inning losses on Saturday.

Regular season closing: The Warhawks have seven games remaining in the regular season including Wednesday's game at Louisiana Tech. ULM then travels to Georgia State this weekend in Sun Belt Conference play before returning home on May 6 and 7 for its final series against the Ragin' Cajuns when the seniors will be honored.

Louisiana Tech: Louisiana Tech holds an 18-5 record at home this season. The team has lost three of the last four games that they have played. In the first meeting, ULM's Jessie Watts' RBI base hit brought in Melanie Coyne in the bottom of the second inning and that was all the Warhawks needed as Coyne allowed the Lady Techsters just one hit on the evening.

30-win season: The Warhawks are on the cusp of a 30-win season. The last time that ULM had a 30-win season was in coach Corey Lyon's first season at ULM in 2015 with a record of 30-22 for their first 30-win season as a member of the Sun Belt. ULM also previously had a 30-win season in 2001 as a member of the Southland Conference (31-22 record). The Warhawks have won over 30 games only eight times in their 37-year history. The most wins in a season for ULM came in 1997 with an overall record of 47-12.
