MONROE, La. - The ULM softball team travels to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend in the team's final regular season road trip as the Warhawks take on Georgia State in Sun Belt Conference play.
NOTABLES
Last time out: ULM fell in all three games against South Alabama last weekend Sun Belt Conference play with scores of 5-8, 1-2 and 4-7. The Warhawks' midweek contest at Louisiana Tech was cancelled due to rain.
Regular season closing: The Warhawks have six games remaining in the regular season including the games this weekend. The team will have three games on the road this weekend and then return home for a final weekend series against the Ragin Cajuns when the seniors will be honored.
Georgia State: The Panthers hold an 11-6 record on their home field. Georgia State has lost only eight games in Sun Belt Conference play but have lost eight out of the last 10 games overall.
30-win season: The Warhawks are on the cusp of a 30-win season. The last time that ULM had a 30-win season was in coach Corey Lyon's first season at ULM in 2015 with a record of 30-22 for their first 30-win season as a member of the Sun Belt. ULM also previously had a 30-win season in 2001 as a member of the Southland Conference (31-22 record). The Warhawks have won over 30 games only eight times in their 37-year history. The most wins in a season for ULM came in 1997 with an overall record of 47-12.
