Alycia Varytimidis
Senior Woman Administrator / Director of Compliance

Alycia Varytimidis is in her first year as the senior woman administrator and director of complaince.

Varytimidis, who has been a part of many facets with ULM athletics, made the move to SWA and director of compliance after a three-year stint as an academic counselor. She oversaw academic support services for all Warhawk student-athletes with an emphasis on the men's and women's basketball, track and cross country teams. The men's basketball team posted a perfect APR score in the 2013-14 season en route to receiving the Sun Belt's Team GPA and NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards.

Varytimidis' community involvement goes even deeper. She served as the athletic director in addition to being a coach and physical education instructor at Monroe's Grace Episcopal School from 2006-13. Some of Varytimidis' credits include rebranding the GES Athletic Booster Club and overseeing gym and dance/cheer studio renovations through fundraising and planning efforts.

She earned her Master's degree in Sport Administration from Grambling State in 2006, where she taught Health and Human Performance classes as well during her one year there.

Varytimidis was ULM's head volleyball coach from 2000-04, where she went far beyond the court for the program's benefit. She created the "I Dig Volleyball" community service campaign for area elementary schools and oversaw renovations of the team's playing and dressing facilities.

She made two previous stops in her head volleyball coaching career, leading the Nicholls State (1999-00) and Bethune-Cookman (1997-99) programs.

Varytimidis played the sport collegiately as well, beginning at Barton County Community College before playing her junior year at the University of Georgia and her senior season at then-Northeast Louisiana University. In 2005, she trained and practiced with Team Iraklis in Thessaloniki, Greece.

She has given numerous presentations throughout her professional career, ranging from eligibility to Title IX. She even spoke on African Americans in Sport Management and Their Experiences in Doctoral Programs in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Varytimidis received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Language (Spanish) from ULM in 1994 before ultimately earning her Master of Science diploma in Sport Administration from Grambling in 2006.
