MONROE,
La. - The ULM soccer team returns to the ULM Soccer Complex for a pair of home
matches this weekend. The Warhawks will host Centenary on Friday at 4 p.m.,
and Nicholls State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
ULM
(1-2) dropped two matches during the Las Vegas Invitational this past weekend.
The Warhawks jumped out to leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before falling 3-2 in double
overtime against Portland State on Friday (Aug. 27). ULM lost 4-0 to host UNLV
on Sunday (Aug. 29) to close out the tournament.
Sophomore
goalkeeper Alex Holland has had an impressive start to the 2010 season.
Holland, a native of Las Vegas, Nev., combined for 20 saves in two matches in
Las Vegas. For the season, Holland has recorded 26 saves with one shutout.
Centenary
plays its first regular-season match against ULM on Friday, coming off an
11-6-1 record in 2009. The Ladies defeated LeTourneau University 4-0 in an
exhibition match on Friday (Aug. 27). Kelly Fossard is Centenary's leading
returner from a year ago. Fossard tallied two goals while taking 18 shots in
2009.
Nicholls
State defeated Southern 3-1 on Friday (Aug. 27) to remain without a loss in
2010. The Colonels received two goals from Kaity Mattsson and a goal from
Keisha Brown as Nicholls improved to 2-0-1. Mattsson leads the team with six
goals and 12 points on the season.
Up
next, the Warhawks will travel to Northwestern State on Sept. 10 at 7 p.m., and
McNeese State on Sept. 12 at 1 p.m.
