High Definition Video Board & New Sound System to be
Installed at
ULM's Malone Stadium for 2011 Season
MONROE, La. - ULM's Malone
Stadium will be home to the second-largest on-campus high definition video
board in the state of Louisiana, ULM Director of Athletics Bobby Staub
announced at a press conference on Friday. The project, which is pending final
approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, will also
include a new state-of-the-art sound system and is scheduled to be completed in
preparation for the 2011 season.
"This is a project that will
certainly add to in-game experience of our fans as well as that of our
student-athletes," Staub said. "This is a project that has been a long time
coming and we appreciate the patience of our fans. With the quality equipment
that is being installed, it will be well worth the wait. This is an exciting
time for ULM Athletics."
"This is very, very exciting
news not for just the players, but also for our fans and our ability to
recruit," ULM football head coach Todd Berry said. "The new board and sound
system will provide a great opportunity to showcase our student-athletes and
our University. This is not going to be just a videoboard; it is going to be a
very nice videoboard."
The new 15-millimeter high
definition video display board will be one of the largest in the Sun Belt
Conference in addition to being the second largest on-campus board in the
state. The board will feature nearly 1,600 square feet of total video space,
including a 23 feet tall by 49 feet wide area dedicated to video and 450 square
feet of video advertising space.
In addition to the high
definition video board and sound system being installed at Malone Stadium, ULM's
baseball, softball and soccer complexes will all be receiving new scoreboards
over the next year.
