CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- ULM senior quarterback Kolton Browning has been selected as one of 30 quarterbacks to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards Watch List.
"Congratulations to Kolton Browning on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Offensive Awards Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Under Head Coach Todd Berry, Browning will be one of the top quarterbacks to watch in 2013."
Browning enters his final season at the top of the charts with 60 career touchdown passes. In the home finale against North Texas, the Mabank, Texas, native connected with Je'Ron Hamm for his school record 56th career touchdown pass. Browning added four more before the season came to close as he distanced himself from Steven Jyles, who tallied 55 career touchdown passes from 2002-05.
Browning is also on the cusp of breaking three other career records. He will look to chase down Steven Jyles as Browning trails only Jyles in career passing yards (904 yards needed for record), career passing attempts (249 needed for record) and career pass completions (45 completions needed for record).
The Warhawks open the 2013 campaign against the Oklahoma Sooners on August 31. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. in Norman, Okla., and the game will be aired on Fox Sports Network (Pay-Per-View).
