ULM Men's Golf Travels to Western Kentucky
MONROE, La. – After nearly three full weeks away from the competition on the golf course, the ULM men’s golf team returns to action Sunday, October 14, at the Western Kentucky Kenny Perry Invitational. The Warhawks will be challenged by a very long (7,248 yards) par-72 course.
This is the inaugural edition of the tournament named for former Hilltopper and PGA pro Kenny Perry. ULM joins Western Kentucky and Troy as the only Sun Belt representatives in the tournament.
Head men’s coach and director of golf Erik Hsu’s line up is heavy on the veterans. Sophomore Mason Seaborn will be in the number one position, followed by senior Adam McCleary. Redshirt freshman Greg Smail makes his return to Kentucky for the first time since transferring to ULM from Louisville. Seniors Alex Malmay and Adam Monsen round out the Warhawk lineup.
“I feel pretty good about the team that is going. We are playing a very challenging course this weekend, it hosted an NCAA regional, and there is come great competition in this field. We have had about three weeks since our last tournament so we have had ample time to prepare. I'm excited about the senior leadership we have in this traveling five and that will be the X factor. I've challenged our seniors to step up and put on a performance,” Hsu said.
Live scoring will be available through golfstat.com. The
first round begins Sunday, October 14, at 9 a.m.
