ULM Remains in 10th Through Two Rounds at Xavier/LPGA Invitational
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The ULM Warhawks shot 317 on Saturday's second round of the Xavier/LPGA Collegiate Invitational to remain in 10th place with a 641 stroke total (324-317). Florida Gulf Coast remains in the lead after carding a 308 to total 618 (310-308) through 36 holes at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Sophomore Kathy Sterling used a pair of birdies to shoot a team-low 76 on the par-72 course to climb into a tie-for-seventh (79-76--155). Sterling is just seven strokes back off co-leaders Lacey Fears (73-75--148) of Mercer and Georgia Price (74-74-148) of Florida Gulf Coast. Fellow sophomore Ines Fendt was the most improved Warhawk between the first two rounds. Fendt took nine strokes off her score yesterday to card 80.
The final round begins Sunday at 8:00 a.m local time (7:00 a.m Central) in a shotgun start. The Warhawks are once again grouped with UAB and South Dakota State on the 11th through 13th holes.
