MONROE, La. - The annual ULM Baseball Blood Series will begin Thursday evening at Warhawk field with first pitch slated for 6 p.m. Admission is free to the best-of-five series.
Divided into Maroon and Grey teams, the two squads will play each game in its entirety and the series losing team will donate blood to an area blood bank. Game three of the series, a seven-inning contest, is the only game not slated to go the full nine innings. The Maroon team will be the home team for games one, two and five, with the Grey team taking the home dugout for games three and four.
Game one will be a match-up of seniors as Shelby Aulds (Grey) and Andrew Richardson (Maroon) will take the mound. Game two will feature a pair of newcomers in Josh Leone (Grey) and Trey Setzer (Maroon). The remaining pitching match-ups have yet to be determined.
Josh Faciane was the first overall pick in the Blood Series Draft (Grey Team).
