HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The ULM tennis program began play in the Southern Miss Halloween Classic on Friday. Silvia Tumova will play for the Green Draw title on Saturday morning after winning her second match after a bye over Daryia Dashutina (Lamar) 7-5, 6-1. Tumova will face Regina Nychitailova (Southeastern Louisiana) at 11 a.m.

Iris Van Leeuwen went 1-1 and will play for third place on Saturday. Van Leeuwen defeated Emma Pitre (Nichools State) 6-2, 7-6 (10-3) before losing to Carolina Masso (Lamar) 6-1, 6-2. Van Leeuwen will square off against Stephanie Gonzalez (Central Arkansas) at 9 a.m.

Justyna Krol went 1-1 and will play to win the back draw on Saturday. Krol lost to Renne Villareal (Southeastern Louisiana) in a thriller, 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. Krol bested Hannah Appleyard (UL-Lafayette) 6-1, 6-0 and will meet Megan Blue (Murray State) tomorrow.

In white draw doubles, Krol and Tumova lost to Lima and Guasti (Jackson State), 9-7 and will meet Buck and Murphy (Central Arkansas) on Saturday.

Medy Blankvoort and Van Leeuwen defeated Kerindi and Tomlin (Jackson State), 8-0 in grey draw doubles. The duo will face Burkhartt and Appleyard (UL-Lafayette).
