MONROE, La.- The ULM softball team held its annual holiday charity event on Tuesday, Nov. 27, collecting gifts for The Wellspring, a Monroe-based family support alliance. The gifts donated by the team went toward the alliance's "Santa's Workshop" fundraiser, in which gifts are collected and distributed to women, children and men in need. The main function of the alliance is to support homeless families and families suffering from domestic violence.
"We always do something as a team during the holidays to give back to the Monroe community," said Head Coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill. "We had a team party where all the girls brought a specific item to donate. Doing things like this really illustrate the true meaning of the holiday season."
