MONROE, La. -- After completing his playing career on the gridiron Cody Wells will join the ULM golf program once classes resume next week.
Wells will be a walk-on for the Warhawks who will resume play on Monday, Feb. 4 at the two-day Rice Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
"I am excited about Cody joining our golf team for our championship season this spring. Cody is a great leader, and even better competitor," said head coach Erik Hsu. "Cody is going to be a walk-on for us, although he is expected to practice and compete no different than a scholarship player. I know how much Cody loves golf and he has already played plenty of rounds with current player, Adam McCleary, and other teammates. I know Cody will play a big role in helping us climb up the rankings as he will be a great asset to our team."
As a senior quarterback for the Warhawk football team, Wells appeared in all 13 games and started once (at Arkansas State). He finished the season 66 of 103 for 700 yards and four TDs while rushing 12 times for 25 yards.
