MONROE, La. -- The ULM women's tennis program has been ranked at No. 75 in the latest ITA National Team Rankings released on Tuesday. It the first time being ranked since March of 2011.
"It is good to get into the rankings but we have a long ways to go," said head coach Terrence De Jongh. "The team is ready to prove they belong and I am excited to see what we can accomplish this season."
The Warhawks have won their first four matches of 2013 led by junior 2012 All-Sun Belt performer Medy Blankvoort (4-0) and sophomore Sophie Rufyikiri (4-0). Freshman Petra Horakova and sophomore Silvia Tumova are also unbeaten at 4-0.
ULM has not competed since a 7-0 win inside Heard Stadium over Alcorn State. Its previous match at Northwestern State on Feb. 22 was postponed due to heavy rains, and has yet to be rescheduled.
The Maroon & Gold's next action will be on Friday at Texas-San Antonio at 11 a.m.
