No. 75 ULM Stays Unbeaten at Sam Houston State

SAN ANTONIO -- The 75th ranked ULM tennis program stayed unbeaten (6-0) on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over Sam Houston State.

The Warhawks swept all three doubles matches to take the 1-0 lead. Sophie Rufyikiri and Ema Turudija knocked off Sheridan Currie and Kayla Stevenson, 8-4, in No. 1 doubles. Petra Horakova and Silvia Tumova defeated Nadia Dubyanskaya and Maddie Mortimore, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles. Medy Blankvoort and Justyna Krol completed the sweep with an 8-0 win over Imke Jagau and Natalie Petaia in No. 3 doubles.

Rufyikiri edged Jagau, 62, 6-4, in No. 1 singles. Blankvoort dropped her first match of her season, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, to Currie in No. 2 singles.

Tumova improved to 6-0 with a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 win over Petaia in No. 3 singles. In No. 4 singles Turudija won, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 over Mortimore. Tanya Postnikova clipped Krol, 6-4, 6-4, in No. 5 singles.

Horakova remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Dubyanskaya in No. 6 singles.

ULM will conclude its road trip with Texas State on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
