ULM Womenís Golf Faces Nationís Best at LSU Golf Classic
MONROE, La. -- The ULM women’s golf team heads to Baton Rouge tomorrow for its toughest test of the season at the LSU Golf Classic.
The Warhawks are the lone Sun Belt representative in the 14-team field. Four participating teams are ranked in the Golf World/WGCA Top 25 poll: No. 10 Arkansas, No. 15 Georgia, No. 17 N. C. State and No. 24 Tulane. Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, TCU, Tennessee, UNC-Wilmington and Wake Forest round out the rest of the participants.
“We are very excited to compete at LSU, this event will show us how we measure up to the beat teams in the country,” Snider said. “Playing in events like this will not only make us a stronger team but also help us gain much-needed experience.”
The University Club Golf Course on the LSU campus plays at a par-72, 6,305-yard distance. PGA legend David Toms helped design the course.
“The golf course presents some great challenges and the greens will play firm and fast,” Snider added.
The first round tees off Friday at 8:30 a.m. on holes 1 and 10 in a staggered start. Live scoring updates during the tournament are available through GolfStat.
