Holloway-Hill Adds Monroe Native Megan Long in Early Signing
MONROE, La. -- ULM softball coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill announced her first member of the incoming class of 2014-15 Wednesday.
Megan Long signed an offer of admission from ULM in a small ceremony held at Monroe's Neville High School yesterday.
Long, a 5-4 catcher from Monroe, La., enters her senior season witha .417 career batting average and 73 stolen bases. She holds the Tiger record for fewest strikeouts in a season and in a career as she has been fanned just seven times in three seasons. She was named ot the 2012 and 2013 all-state teams and received all-district accolades from 2011-13.
While Long has been at Neville, the Tigers have made two appearances in the Louisiana State Softball Tournament and three consecutive playoff appearences under head coach Trey Dozier.
Long is the youngest of three siblings. She plays club softball with the Louisiana Freedom Gold out of Shreveport, La.
In her spare time, Long serves as a volunteer with a local soup kitchen and the local humane society.
The current edition of the ULM softball team takes to the field Feb. 7 at the Auburn University Tournament
