NEW ORLEANS -- ULM's Rochelle Roberts was voted the Sun Belt Softball Player of the Week for her efforts last week against Central Arkansas and UT Arlington.
She becomes the first freshman in ULM Softball history to win any Sun Belt weekly award. She is the second Warhawk to be honored by the league this season (Samantha Hamby).
Over the week, the freshman outfielder had multi-hit games in each of the four contests including a 4-for-4 performance in the Warhawks' 11-3 victory over UTA in game two on April 18. She also stole a career-best three bases in that game.
She stole a total of eight bases and scattered 11 hits for a .786 average on the week. The Vacaville, Calif., native also rose her season average to .388, now the fourth-best in the Sun Belt.
ULM returns to action tomorrow for a 6 p.m. contest at Lamar.
