SAUCIER, Miss. -- The ULM men’s golf team finished the second day of the Sun Belt Conference Championship in seventh place.

After posting a 301 in the opening round, the Warhawks carded a 299 to finish day two with a score of 600.

“We were 2-over and playing quite well for 15 holes and then made a few bad swings on the closing holes and fell from fourth to seventh,” said head coach Walt Williams.

Velten Meyer led the Warhawks with an impressive performance, finishing under par with a 71.

“Velten had the shot of the tournament today when he flew an 8 iron into the hole for an eagle on hole 12 from 155 yards!” said Williams.

Mason Seaborn and Calum Hill carded a 3-over 75, while Greg Smail and Charlie Macneal carded a pair of 78s.

“We will play well tomorrow and get back into the top half of the field!” said Williams.

The final round of the tournament will begin Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
