MONROE, La. – The ULM football program and head coach Matt Viator celebrated the Warhawks’ 2017 National Signing Day Class with 400 supporters inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Wednesday night. At the conclusion of the event, the ULM staff and fans received word that the Warhawks had ended the day with the highest rated signing class in the Sun Belt Conference, according to Rivals.com.
Originally slated to be held at the ULM Library, the event was relocated to Fant-Ewing Coliseum after initially selling out last week and due continued interest in being a part of the event.
The Warhawk staff received a total of 23 commitments as part of their signing class that was completed today on National Signing Day. Of the 23 total signees, 16 inked with ULM today, joining the seven mid-year transfers who joined the program in January.
The class includes four players each at wide receiver, cornerback and safety, three players at both linebacker and offensive line, two running backs, one defensive tackle, one tight end and one athlete. The incoming class hails from six different states, including 10 players from the state of Louisiana, nine Texas products, and one player from Arkansas, California, Mississippi and New York.
