MONROE, La. - When ULM hits the football field on Sept. 11 against Arkansas, Warhawk fans will see a couple of new decals on the back on the ULM helmets. Warhawk players will now have the opportunity to earn Program Decals and Game Decals for their work on and off the field.

"This is something that I started when I was at Illinois State and the players took a lot of pride in earning those decals," ULM head coach Todd Berry said. "I have former players who still remember how many decals they received 12 years ago. We want our players to take pride in everything they do for this University. It is important for them to understand that they can also lose a decal for unacceptable behavior off the field or if their academic performance begins to suffer."

The Program Decals are maroon and gold stars that are awarded for accomplishments on and off the field. Program Decals will be awarded for academic success, outstanding community service and longevity in the program.

The Game Decals are maroon and gold Warhawk talons that are awarded for accomplishments on the field. In order to receive the decal for that game, players must meet minimum performance requirements and ULM must win the game. The weekly team captains will also receive a Warhawk talon for the back of their helmet.
