DOTHAN, Ala. – The ULM men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up the fall in Saturday morning’s Sun Belt Conference Championship race, with the Warhawk men finishing ninth and the ULM women placing 11th in a strong field. 

NOTABLES

-In the men’s 8K race, Elias Keter turned in the best Warhawk performance for either team, as he placed sixth overall with a time of 25:04.3, less than a minute behind the SBC Individual Champion, Craig Lautenslager from UT-Arlington. Keter ran the last 1K in a time of 2:44 and passed four runners on the way to his sixth place finish. Keter’s finish was the highest individual performance in the SBC Championships in the last four years, and also gave him second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.

-John Neal and Brandon McDonald finished stride for stride in 43rd and 44th, respectively, with times of 27:11.7 and 27:13.1, while Jonathan Jeffcoat (56th, 28:05.6) and Tanner Collins (62nd, 29:07.6) rounded out the ULM men’s times.

-The women’s 5K race saw Edith Jebet pace ULM with her 27th place finish with a time of 19:35.9, while Angela Jepchirchir finished with a time of 20:31.7 in 54th. Kaitlin Fleming (61st, 21:04.8), Kennedy Smith (73rd, 21:54.5) and Bailie Cunningham (76th, 22:29.7) rounded out the Warhawk women’s times.
