MONROE, La.  -  The ULM beach volleyball team will travel to Baton Rouge to compete at the Battle on the Bayou this weekend, with four matches, including a pair against top 10 ranked teams.

Last time out: The Warhawks competed in the Governors Beach Bash and went 4-0 with wins over Austin Peay, UT Martin, Morehead State and UAB. The weekend saw a change in the one and two pairs, as the new teams went 3-1 and 4-0 respectively that weekend.

Queens of the Court: The pair of Catherine Griffith and Becca Brown continue their success on the sand and have extended their win streak to 13 matches. The pair has competed at both the four and five position throughout the streak. Kori Simpson and Claire Crossfield look to carry their momentum in the two position last weekend into this weekend with a four game win streak of their own.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi: This will be the third time that ULM will face TAMCC. The last two times that the teams met, the Warhawks won 5-0 and 4-1. The Islanders have yet to win a contest overall this season.

Texas A&M-Kingsville: This will be the second time that ULM will face TAMK. The first time the two teams met this season ended in a 4-1 win for the Warhawks. The Javelenas will enter the weekend on a three game losing streak.

LSU: The Tigers are currently ranked seventh in the latest AVCA Top 15 Coaches Poll. LSU holds a 3-2 all-time record over the Warhawks. The Tigers are currently undefeated at home at 4-0 and have lost only five games this season, to Florida State, Florida Atlantic, UCLA, USC and Long Beach. LSU enters the weekend with a 16 game winning streak.

Georgia State: The Panthers are currently tied for 10th in the AVCA Top 15 Coaches Poll. The team holds an 8-9 record in neutral site games. Georgia State has won five of its last seven games.

Spring Hill: This will be the second time that ULM will face the Badgers. The last meeting ended in a close 3-2 loss for ULM in Gulf Shores. Spring Hill is 3-10 in neutral site games and enters the weekend having won seven of the last nine games.

Uncharted waters: The Warhawks have not played against LSU and Georgia State yet this season. ULM has played against one other ranked team earlier in the season in Tulane.
