Location: Corpus Christi Country Club / Corpus Christi, Texas

Corpus Christi, Texas – The ULM women’s golf team finished competition on Tuesday at the season-opening Islander Classic, finishing in a tie for 10th.

NOTABLES

-Scarlett Eaton led the Warhawks on Tuesday with a four-over 76, highlighted with birdies on holes five and 11. For the tournament she finished second of all Warhawks in a tie for 38th.

-Shani White led the Warhawks in the two-day tournament, finishing in a tie for 22nd, but struggled on Tuesday to get anything going as she posted an 81. Her lone birdie came on the 15th hole in route to her 81.

-Devanshi Naik couldn’t get anything going on Tuesday in route to an 84 as she finished in a tie for 49th overall in the tournament. Naik’s double bogey on the 16th hole stalled her round out as she was unable to pickup any birdies on the round.

-Olivia Landberg posted an 86 on Tuesday in her final round. Landberg was able to pick up a pair of birdies on the 15th and 18th holes to highlight her round on Tuesday.

-Michaela Osborne also carded an 86 on Tuesday and, much like Naik, couldn’t get anything going as she was unable to pick up a birdie on her round. Ashton Maddaloni rounded out the team as an individual as she carded a 87 on Tuesday.

QUOTEABLES

Head Coach Joni Stephens

Thought on the Round: We struggled all day in the winds as we had to club up as many as two to three clubs to compensate for the weather and it was just mentally challenging for us. We putted extremely well after struggling in the fall. Our short game was better but we still need to gain confidence in our ball striking. Scarlett played a solid round on the day, especially in the conditions. We need to continue to grow, as we have improved on our short game and we need to improve on our ball striking.

UP NEXT

-Following the Texas A&M-CC Islander Classic, the Warhawks will now head to Dallas, Texas for the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invite. The three-day event begins on March 13.
