Results after Round Two: ULM 6th

Location: Trophy Club CC/Trophy Club, Tex.

Trophy Club, Texas – The ULM women’s golf team finished the second round in sixth place heading into Wednesday's final round in the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invite.

-Shani White paced the Warhawks on Tuesday with a plus-one score of 73 as she currently sits in a tie for fifth heading into Wednesday’s final round. White picked up three birdies on the day, including picking one up late on the par five 16th hole which helped lead her to the one-over 73.

-Michaela Osborne had a plus-two showing of 74 which has her sitting in a tie for 13th after 36 holes in Texas. Osborne had three birdies and 26 putts to complete an incredible 9-of-12 up-and-downs for a 74, which is one shot better than any score she has had in the 2016-17 season for the Warhawks.

-Olivia Landberg had a second round showing of plus-five (77) as she battled back from a rough opening nine holes to go two-under on the back. After going out in 43, which included four doubles and a triple bogey on the front, Landberg closed with three birdies coming in to lead to a 34 (-2) to finish with her score of 77.

-Scarlett Eaton had a second round showing of 79 as she closed with an impressive back nine in the process. After going out in 42, Eaton went plus-one on her second nine to finish with her 79 score.

-Devanshi Naik rounded out the team portion for the Warhawks with a 79 on Tuesday. Naik played even par golf for 14 holes, however had a few slip ups which led to her struggles and the 79.

-Ashton Maddaloni, playing as an individual, posted an 81 on Tuesday. She struggled to get anything going as her lone birdie came on the par four sixth hole but otherwise was unable to get anything going in route to her 81.

Head Coach Joni Stephens

Thought on the Round: We started out a little rough on our front nine, with temperatures in high 30's at the start of our round, and made the turn at plus-12. However, the girls really settled down on the back side and finished strong. We were three-under as a team on hole 16, and finished the day at plus-15 (plus-3 on the last nine holes). Our goal has been to get five scores in the 70's and we accomplished that today. We still struggled with some indecision on shot-making and club selection. That has to get better. But we saw good progress. I am really proud of their effort.

-The Warhawks will again be on the links on Wednesday morning with tee times slated for between 8:57-9:51 for the final round of the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invite.
