Monroe, La. – The ULM men's and women's track & field team will have five representatives in the 2017 NCAA East Regional, which begins on Friday in Lexington, Kentucky.
-The Warhawks start the regional on Friday at 1:00 p.m. CST in Kentucky as Alexis Gordon competes in the women's discus. Gordon will need to be in the Top 12 to advance to the NCAA National Championships in Oregon.
-Levaughn Battick will also compete on Friday for the Warhawks, as he is scheduled to compete in the first round of the 110 meter hurdles at 4:00 p.m. CST. Battick's season-best came in the Bobby Lane Invite when he ran a time of 14.16 seconds. Battick will need to be either in the top three in his heat on Friday or one of the next six best times to advance to Saturday's quarterfinal, which is slated for 6:20 p.m. CST on Saturday night. If he makes it to Saturday, Battick will then need to be the top three in his quarterfinal or one of the next three best times to advance to Oregon for the NCAA National Championships.
-Jevaughn Shaw will open the competition for the Warhawks on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. CST when he competes in the men's discus. Similar to Gordon, Shaw will have to be in the top 12 when competition is over on Saturday to advance to Oregon for the NCAA National Championships. Shaw qualified with his season-best 55.42 meter throw in the LSU Alumni Gold event. This marks the second straight season that Shaw has made it to the NCAA East Regional.

Nelson qualified for the triple jump with his season-best 15.48 meter distance in the LSU Alumni Gold meet.
-Adriunna Brown will be the final ULM competitor on Saturday, competing in the triple jump slated for 5:00 p.m. CST.
