NCAA East Regional

Lexington, Ky. – The ULM men's and women's track & field team finished the 2017 NCAA East Regional with a trio of competitors competing on Saturday trying to earn a trip to Oregon and the National Championships.
-Jevaughn Shaw opened competition for the Warhawks on Saturday with a 53.95 meter throw to finish with a strong 25th place showing in the men's discus event. Shaw was just 32 centimeters away from a trip to Eugene and the National Championships.
-Lebrun Nelson posted a 15.3 meter jump distance in the men's triple jump, also finishing in 25th place on Saturday.
-Senior Adriunna Brown was the final Warhawk to compete on Saturday, tallying a 12.2 meter jump in the women's triple jump as she placed in 39th in a highly competitive event.
-On Friday, senior Alexis Gordon finished her career as a Warhawk with a 49.39 meter throw in Friday's discus to finish 27th overall in the event. Her first attempt had a 48.01 meter toss before she improved on that by over a meter for her final mark, but was unable to crack the top 12 to advance.
-Also on Friday, Levaughn Battick came up short in his opportunity to make it to Saturday's second round of the men's 110 meter hurdles as he posted a 14.68 second time in his respective heat. Battick was in a highly competitive heat which had four finishers advance into Saturday's second round.
