MONROE, La. -- The ULM Golf Classic is a dinner and auction plus a golf tournament held annually to benefit the men’s and women’s golf programs. This year, ULM is proud to announce that Farm Bureau® Insurance has stepped up to become the title sponsor of the event, now known officially as the ULM Farm Bureau® Insurance Golf Classic.

“I’m extremely excited that our friends at Farm Bureau® Insurance have made the commitment to become the title sponsor of our event,” said Kevin Price, Senior Associate Athletics Director. “Farm Bureau® is very committed to our community and our state – having their support is fantastic.”

“We are proud to sponsor the ULM Farm Bureau® Insurance Golf Classic,” said Will Waldrop, Vice President, Farm Bureau® Insurance. This is a great opportunity for us to be involved in the community through this highly anticipated tournament. On behalf of our local agents and employees, we look forward to doing our part in making the 2015 ULM Farm Bureau® Insurance Golf Classic a great event.”

The 2015 ULM Farm Bureau® Insurance Golf Classic plus dinner and auction will be held over two days, Sunday and Monday, July 12-13. On Sunday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a dinner and auction held inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. As in previous years, Outback Steakhouse will continue to cater the dinner. The auction will feature items such as trips with ULM Football to away venues, trips to vacation sites, hunting expeditions and other items sure to garner lots of interest. On Monday, July 13 the golf tournament will be held at Bayou DeSiard Country Club, the preeminent golf course in the area.  There will be morning (8:00 a.m.) and afternoon (1:30 p.m.) options for golfers.

The golf tournament will be a four-person scramble and teams can register for only $1,000 with prizes for teams in each flight. There will also be contests for closest to the pin and longest drive during the event. The field will be limited to the first 34 paid teams (foursomes). For those who don't wish to play golf, tickets solely for the dinner and auction are only $50 per person. Refreshments will again be provided courtesy of Marsala Beverage and the Ouachita Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
