Monroe, La. – The ULM tennis team gets set to continue its strong start to the 2017 spring campaign on Thursday with a matchup against the Mercer Bears with the matchup slated for 9:00 a.m. CST in Atlanta.

NOTABLES

-The Warhawks received national recognition on Tuesday as senior Petra Horakova moved into the ITA singles Top 125 rankings. Horakova is currently ranked No.114 of all singles players in the country. She is ranked in the top 125 for a second straight year as she earned a ranking in ITA rankings a year ago.

-Horakova moved to 6-0 singles action on Saturday with her win in the Warhawks 5-2 victory over McNeese.

-As a team the Warhawks currently have a 81.8 percent (27-6) winning percentage in singles matches highlighted by four individuals not dropping a match on the season. Horakova is 6-0, Tiffany Mylonas and Karolina Snita are both 5-0 while Luana Stanciu is currently 1-0 on the year.

-Mercer enters the match at 3-3 and coming off of a loss on Wednesday to Georgia.

-ULM and Mercer will meet for just the third time in school history on Thursday as the two teams have split the previous two matches. The Warhawks took a 4-0 decision from Mercer on March 9, 2015 before Mercer evened the all-time series at one-all last year with a 4-3 decision.

UP NEXT

-The Warhawks will return to Heard Stadium the next time they are on court on March 9 when they battle in-state foe Louisiana Tech. The matchup with Louisiana Tech is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
