Warhawks Welcome In-State Foe Louisiana Tech On Thursday

Monroe, La. – The ULM tennis team returns to the court for the first time in two weeks on Thursday when they welcome in the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech to Heard Stadium for an afternoon match at 2:00 p.m.  


-For the Warhawks, this will be their longest break between matches as they now will have eight matches over the next month prior to the Sun Belt Tournament coming up beginning on April 20.

-The last time the Warhawks hit the courts, they picked up the doubles point as the team of Madalina Grigoriu and Petra Horakova and the team of Tiffany Mylonas and Luana Stanciu each won doubles points by scores of 6-4. In singles action, the Warhawks were led by 114th-ranked Petra Horakova out of the number four slot, who won 6-1, 6-0 to get the singles action started as she moved to 7-0 this spring in singles action. Stefana Andrei, playing on court one, took her match 6-1, 6-1 which is the same score that Madalina Grigoriu won by over on court six.

-For the season, the Warhawks are now 32-7 in singles matches, as three individuals are unbeaten on the young season led by Horakova at 7-0. Tiffany Mylonas is 6-0 on the season while Luana Stanciu sits at 1-0 in singles action this year.

-The Lady Techsters enter Thursday’s match with a 7-6 mark led by Jazmin Britos, who is 8-4 in singles action on the season playing out of the number one slot for Louisiana Tech.

-The Warhawks have dominated the all-time series against the Lady Techsters 36-3 including winning 7-0 in the 2007-08 season when they last met.


-The Warhawks will next hit the courts on Saturday, March 18 when they head to New Orleans for a matchup with Tulane.
