Monroe, La. – The ULM tennis team is set to head down to the Crescent City for a Saturday morning matchup with nationally ranked Tulane when the Warhawks and No. 40 Green Wave square off on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
-The Warhawks and Green Wave have two common opponents on the season as they both have played Auburn and McNeese State on the season. Both teams are 1-1 against the respective squads, with both falling to Auburn and both defeating McNeese.
-The last time that ULM was on courts was against Louisiana Tech, where the Warhawks dominated singles action again, winning five of the six matches. No. 114-ranked Petra Horakova moved to 8-0 on the young season with a 6-0,6-0 shutout win. Patricia Villar won her singles point just as dominant with a 6-1, 6-1 win while Madalina Grigoriu also was dominant with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
-For the Warhawks, this is the fifth time under head coach Terrence De Jongh that they have opened the dual season with a 7-1 mark.
-The Green Wave enter Saturday’s matchup with a 16-4 mark and as winners of their last five dual matches. Tulane is led by Elena Muller with a 13-2 mark and Christina Sisti, who is 13-4 in dual play on the season.
-The Warhawks and Green Wave have had 19 all-time meetings, with the Warhawks holding a slim 11-8 lead head to head with Tulane. In the last meeting against the Green Wave, the Warhawks fell 4-0 to Tulane on April 15, 2012. That is only meeting the Warhawks have played Tulane under coach Terrence De Jongh.
-The Warhawks will be on the court next weekend when the head to Jonesboro, Arkansas for a pair of SBC matches. ULM will play Friday morning against Texas State before a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Mavericks of UTA.
