MONROE, La. - The Sun Belt Conference announced its bracket for the 2017 SBC Tennis Championships, set to begin on Thursday in New Orleans. ULM earned the No. 1 overall seed and will open tournament play on Friday at 8:00 a.m. at City Park-Pepsi Tennis Center in New Orleans.
The top-seeded Warhawks finished the regular season 13-1 with a perfect 5-0 SBC mark. The tournament seeding is based off of ITA rankings as opposed to conventional conference standings.
The Warhawks will face the winner of the No. 8 Texas State-No. 9 Ragin' Cajuns matchup on Thursday. Texas State enters 7-10 while the Ragin' Cajuns enter 8-10.
ULM is coming off of a 4-3 win with SMU on Friday to enter the tournament on a 12-game winning streak and the 13-1 overall mark. The Warhawks are led by senior Petra Horakova, who currently holds a perfect 13-0 mark in dual play this spring. Tiffany Mylonas enters the tournament with an 11-1 mark on the spring. Freshman Madalina Grigoriu sits at 11-2 including a perfect 10-0 mark out of the sixth spot.
ULM has posted Sun Belt Championship victories in four of the last five years and six of the past eight years.

The winner of Friday’s match will face either No. 4 Troy or No. 5 Coastal Carolina at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the semifinals.
