Monroe, La. - The ULM volleyball team was dealt its second loss against Texas State this year with a three-set loss on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The teams stayed close at the beginning of set one, but after a 10-all score Texas State went on a 7-2 run to take the lead. The Bobcats would hold that lead through to a first set win.
-Texas State jumped out to an early 6-1 lead in set two and the Warhawks could not close the scoring gap as Texas State took set two.
-The teams went back-and-forth at the beginning of the set. After a tie score of 14, the Bobcats furthered their lead to close out the set and the match despite the Warhawks remaining close behind.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-The teams recorded a total of 16 tie scores and eight lead changes in the match. The most contested set was set one with eight tie scores and four lead changes.
-ULM posted its highest hitting percentage in set three (.176).
-ULM posted its highest total of kills in set one (13).
-Sarah Woods led the offense with seven kills. Mikaela Worley followed closely behind with six kills of her own.
-Tara Jenkins and Presleigh Williams directed the offense with a total of 20 assists each contributing 14 and six assists respectively.
-Kacey LeBlanc led the defensive effort with 17 digs on the night.
The Warhawks will close out the season on Saturday against UT Arlington in their final home game of the season. ULM will honor its three seniors: Kaitlyn Shearer, Ana Ribeiro and Hope Pawlik.
